Resolved Question: What do I do if I come across a border crossing that is closed for the night?

I am planning a trip from Bismarck, ND to Fairbanks, AK and back which means that I am going to have to transit Canada. The border crossing just north of Fortuna, ND (where my family lives) is only open from 8am to 4pm daily. Normally that wouldnt be a problem for me. However, Im not going to be able to leave until after the border crossing closes for the night because I am visiting my family in Fortuna. And I dont want to wait until the border opens up again. So if it is closed for the night, am I forced to wait till it opens again or do I just try another border crossing? Or, do they always have someone stationed there despite the fact that it is not a 24 hour crossing? I would ask my family this question, but they never cross the border. Any info would be great.
